Justin Edinburgh Inducted into Newport County Hall of Fame

By Media

Former Manager and Club legend Justin Edinburgh has today been posthumously inducted into the Newport County AFC Hall of Fame.

Revered by Newport supporters, Justin managed the Exiles from 2011-15, and famously clinched a return to the Football league in 2013 with a play-off victory over Wrexham at Wembley.

Marked by a minute of applause pre-match and a dedicated half-time ceremony, the induction was a welcome tribute for Justin’s family who were present. Speaking of their appreciation, a family spokesperson commented:

“The club was very close to Justin’s heart as it is ours and some of the best moments from his illustrious career were spent with County – the stand-out one being the promotion against Wrexham at Wembley in the Conference play-off final.

“We cannot thank everyone enough for the support shown to us as a family in the most tragic of times. We urge everyone to get behind the JE3 Foundation so that we can make a difference to people’s lives and continue Justin’s legacy for many years to come. A special thank you to all of the Board of Directors, staff, players and fans at Newport for their support and their warm welcome as always.”

On Saturday 14th December, the biggest names in football gathered with the community, family and friends at the first ever JE3 Gala.

Ahead of Justin’s 50th birthday on 18th December, the JE3 Gala was a celebration of Justin’s undeniable impact on the world of football, his family and friends, and the community at large. With special guests and a silent auction raising more than £100,000 the flagship event was a tremendous success.

The Foundation is delighted to announce that moving forward, the JE3 Gala will take place on an annual basis ahead of Justin’s birthday in December.
